Programs & Projects

Empower Me Up provides various experiences and events for students and their families. Our goal is to not only provide exposure to different opportunities, but also to stretch and motivate these individuals. We support a wide range of programs and projects including, parent and teen workshops, special projects like Sydney’s Shelter, therapy games, technology & equipment, and transportation projects.

Additionally, Empower Me Up provides programs and benefits that are more creative in nature, such as photography classes, jewelry making, inspirational poster designing, bonfire gatherings, green screen photo-shoots, movie nights, etc.

About Us

Our Mission

To motivate, educate, inspire and empower adolescents and young adults to realize their worth and ability to create change. EMU supports and develops programs that educate and empower adolescents and young adults adults struggling with self-esteem, emotional and behavioral issues, and their families. Our emphasis is on providing and supporting innovative long-term solutions, including prevention programs, motivational activities and events, and long-term therapeutic programs.

Founder’s Story

Empower Me Up was founded by us as a result of our own family journey in working with several agencies and struggling to find longer-term therapeutic alternatives and solutions to Dani’s struggle with depression, anxiety and low self-esteem, and the resulting effects not only on her but on our family. One of the best pieces of advice we received early on, was to “Own it, or it will own you.” So we shared our story – a lot – and in the process discovered there were many other families and young people – beautiful, creative, funny, intelligent individuals who had somehow fallen into a pattern of believing they were less than enough or couldn’t manage things independently. We felt we had to do something to help empower these individuals and to make long-term therapeutic programs, dedicated to helping this population realize their potential, more available and innovative. Thus, Empower Me Up was created in February 2014, by a passionate group of volunteers dedicated to bringing empowerment activities, innovative solutions and long-term programs to individuals, families and communities – and to spread the word –
